Every Gift Makes a Difference
The Kentucky YMCA Youth Association serves as the home of Kentucky’s YMCA Youth and Government programs. We provide middle school and high school students across the Commonwealth and college students across the nation with opportunities for service learning, civic engagement, and personal development. Your generous support keeps the Y accessible for those who need us.
When you support the Y, you join one of the leading nonprofits in Kentucky that offers leadership and universal skills training for teenagers. Your contribution makes a significant difference to the lives of teens.
Why Your Gift Counts...
“Without the Y, thousands of Kentucky students since 1890 would not have found the growth only possible within this community. Without the Y, Kentucky students from all across the state would not have found a common purpose and a reason to connect with their peers. The Y has united me with a network of passionate students throughout the state. Like the students before me and the students that will come after me, I gained my first experience in government through state Y-conferences, I found a love for serving my community beyond simply earning hours for a resume, and I learned the importance of advocating for what I believe in. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the Y in my life.”
-Amy Yang, Class of 2021
Ways to Give
Annual Campaign
At the Kentucky YMCA, we work tirelessly to ensure that teens have a safe space to learn and grow and leave every program feeling inspired to be a better person. Through civic engagement opportunities, service learning, advocacy, and leadership training, we believe that teens in Kentucky are more resilient, empowered, mindful, and supported due to our programs. The Annual Campaign allows us to share the KY YMCA's significant impact on Kentucky youth. We invite you to follow along as we share KY Y's impact on students, alums, volunteers, and the community. Please consider donating today and send us your own story on how the KY Y has united you with others and inspired you to change your world! Click here to give to the 2024-25 Annual Campaign.

Gifts of Securities and Stocks
Throughout the history of the Kentucky YMCA, generous individuals, corporations and foundations have made leadership gifts that have helped shape the future of the Y in our community.
By donating appreciated stocks, bonds and mutual fund shares that have been owned for more than one year, donors can avoid capital gains tax. They also receive an income tax deduction for the fair market value of the gift. A security’s gift value is determined by its fair market value on the day you make the gift.

Contribute Money When you Pay Taxes
Kentucky taxpayers have the opportunity to contribute money by checking a box on your state income tax return. Contributions will be deducted from your return or added to the amount owed. Donations made through the tax checkoff may be claimed on a charitable contribution on your returns the following year.
How it works:
When completing your State Tax, look for the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association Funder “Individual Voluntary Contributions”. Indicate an amount, ($1 increments) that you would like to contribute. Any amount will make a difference! If someone else prepares your income tax returns, remember to share that you want to donate to the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association. If you have any questions please reach out to our Director of Partnerships & Development, Abbey Costello at abbey@kyymca.org.
Global Initiatives Fund
Each year, The Kentucky YMCA raises money for the Global Initiatives Fund to support internationally— focused activities. The Kentucky YMCA uses these funds to support international programming and needs, newcomer/immigrant students, non-profits worldwide, and the YMCA Global Movement. This year, we will be dedicating the first $5,000 to the San Juan and Ponce YMCAs in Puerto Rico. Click here to learn more.
