Each High School KYA delegation can select 2 student to serve as a Media Corps delegate (delegations can choose the manner in which they select their Media delegate).
Media Corps delegates tell the stories of the assembly through a variety of media, including written articles, social media reporting, video broadcasting, podcasting, and more.
Being a member of the Media Corps offers hands-on practice crafting compelling stories on important policy topics. Media Corps members regularly publish their stories outside of the conference in local or school newspapers, blog sites and video platforms.

Supporting Officers
- Assistant Editors (4 per KYA) | to apply, you must log in through our new (yet temporary) log in portal. If you haven't done this before you will need to fill out an info form before can apply for a Supporting Officer role. After you finish the info form, log back in and select, "STUDENT: Register for a program" Then "KYA Supporting Officer Application". For a step by step to the login portal, click here.

Delegations must intent and register for the conference of which their Presiding Officer is elected/appointed.

Assembly Agenda
The agenda below provides a brief overview of the program area at KYA. For a full description of roles and responsibilities, please review the Role Guides and Program Area Resources on the KYA Resources page.
Pre-Conference | Program Introduction Meeting
All Media delegates meet with the Editor-in-Chief, Assistant Editors, and Program Coordinator to review the agenda, reporting and interview assignments, and other program components.
Day 1 | Committee Reporting
During committee hearings, Media delegates report on the various policy issues brought up during debate, and interview Bill Sponsors, Lobbyists, and Cabinet Secretaries about their positions on each piece of legislation. Reporting will be live on Twitter and Instagram, and any articles will be posted as they are completed.
Day 1 | Candidate Interviews
In addition to reporting on committees, Media delegates will also interview candidates for both Bluegrass and Commonwealth Presiding Officer positions. Interviews will be collected and published before polls open for voting.
Day 2 | Reporting Assignments
Throughout the remainder of the Assembly, all Media delegates will be given various reporting assignments to cover for the Media Corps. This includes program area assignments like debate, policy issues, oral arguments, lobbying, and Cabinet meetings, as well as program culture and Assembly activities. Delegates will also be assigned to photograph various parts of the Assembly and engage with delegates through social media.
Post-Conference | Assembly Video
Following the conclusion of the Assembly, the Media Corps will showcase its final broadcasts, podcasts, and any lingering assignments not posted during the course of the conference. All Media Corps projects will be live online.
