Student Y Membership
There are two options to become a Student Y member. An advisor can register students as a group or students can register individually. Look below for more information!
Please note that a Student Y Membership with the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association is NOT a membership to any other YMCA.
Advisors: Register a Student Y Chapter
We are so happy to have you join us.
To become an official Student Y Chapter, Advisors must complete the membership process for their students, which can be found on our Online Community. To register your school, please complete the following steps:
- Add Students to Online Community Roster
Advisors should visit www.kyymca.org/login and sign-in to the Online Community. Here you can enter in the names and personal email addresses for your students involved in your school’s Student YMCA. Returning students do not need to be entered again. Once added, each student should login to complete an Info Form, which they must submit to finish the process. Students who have not yet completed the Info Form will be indicated on your roster. You can resend the Delegate Info Form to returning students, by clicking the edit symbol beside email.

- Identify Student Y Members & Chapter Officers
Click the Affiliate hyperlink on the homepage to manage your Student Y members and officers. By selecting the checkbox, each student is being added as an affiliated member to your chapter. You can also indicate which students will be serving as your Chapter Officers. Review recommended Officer Positions.
- Submit Membership Fee Payment Membership is $20 per student. Individual students may pay directly when they register online here. If you prefer to register your students through the advisor portal, you will be sent an invoice then payment can be made to the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association and sent to:

What to Expect After Registration
Thanks for joining us! Now that you’ve registered, the following materials are coming your way:
- Confirmation email: Upon submitting your registration, you should have received a confirmation email with action steps for getting your Student Y up and running this month!
- Student Y Manual: As soon as you register, you'll have access to the online Student Y Manual. The Manual has everything you need to know about service planning, advocacy, how to run/plan your chapter, KYA & KUNA prep, and more!
- Student Y Bulletin: You are now subscribed to the Student Y Bulletin. This monthly bulletin will not only include helpful tips, resources, and deadlines, but provide a platform for chapters to send in storytelling pieces to share with other Student Ys throughout the year.
